Suswagatam!

Hello and welcome to the 5th European Marathi Sammelan - 2004. Site Oslo, NORWAY

Mission

To preserve, promote and present various aspects of social, educational, cultural and literary activities of Marathi-speaking community scattered in Europe.

This convention is being held in Oslo, the enchanting capital city of Norway. Known as the land of Midnight Sun, Norway conjures up visions of a very beautiful country with breathtaking snow-capped mountains, rising out of the seas, and narrow fjords. A meeting of hearts and minds in the midst of such beauty will be a memorable one.

Venue for the sammelan is Holmenkollen Park Hotel situated on scenic location of the Holmenkollen Ski resort in Oslo.

The Sammelan will start on July 16th and would end on July 18th. On the opening day the convention starts with guest enrolment from 14:30. You are requested to register your participation as early as possible, to avoid the disappointment, as the number of rooms in the hotel is rather limited, and we may have to put you up in a different hotel. There are 110 double rooms. Due to this limitation, Registration and allotment of double rooms will be on the first come first served basis. People who register later will have a choice to stay in the same hotel in a room with smaller bed (140cm Double bed), or in a nearby hotel in a double room. There will be no difference in the room rate but a free transport will be available from the other hotel to the venue. Though the cut off date for registration is 31st March 2004, we would like you to register before 31st January to take advantage of the early registration offer. Participants should register for the sammelan using this Registration form

Please let us know if you wish to give any performance during the sammelan. We can not make any promise, but we will try to accommodate as many as possible in the limited time that is at our disposal.

We are looking forward to your valuable suggestions and constructive criticism. We urge you to get actively involved in the preparations, age being no bar. We seek your contribution in all aspects to make this event a great success. Do visit this site as often as you can, as we would be updating this site on a regular basis.
